The brilliant brevity that is haiku has always eluded my typing. (stares disconsolately at fingers..)
I had a riff going the other night in my head, it was brilliant. I think. It's completely disappeared, so for now, a little exercise in some of my favourite lyrics, with plagiarism. This isn't my favourite by Floyd, but it seemed to fit.
Pink Floyd's "Hey You", by Apalachian Chief.
Percussion graciously provided by Chief's rhythmic cribbing.
Hey, Chief. Out there in the garage,
standing cribbing, stare at walls.
Can you hear me?
Hey Chief
Waiting in your "stall"
with softened feet and sodden walls
Chief, I hear you.
Hey Chief, don't let them burn up your sweet light
Don't give in without one bite.
Hey Chief, out there on your own
Standing chilled down to the bone
I will hear you.
Hey Chief, with your eyes against the wall
Waiting for one/any other
just to call out
Hey Chief, would you let me help carry that load?
Open her heart, you're going home.
(I'm totally skipping the worms eating his brain part.)
Hey Chief, standing on the road
sweetly doing what you're told,
You astound me.
Hey Chief, out there beyond the stall,
Breaking records, hung on the wall,
Who can help you?
Hey Chief, don't give up, there is hope for all
Together we'll stand, divided we'll fall.
To Keeping It Kind, people.

Poor boy !
Very well done GL. Just wish it could be in a happier tone. So what's it going to be when he is finally moved to a better place? You know- somewhere with a pasture and space to run. What's the song then?
I ask, only because I have hope for him. His owner? Not so much.
Gl, I pray daily for AC's release. May you both find peace.
Poor Chief.
Still absolutely astounded that nothing can be done about this.
Peace to you and if nothing else, grateful that she is leaving the garage door open so the poor thing gets some fresh air.
Had to edit ya, Paddy.
sorry. I used the word neighbour.

"What lyrics, goL. I was just humming PF last night. Maybe it's a sign.
It hurts to see how much you care for this horse.
By the looks of his ribbing, it looks like a neglect case is coming... and I hope a seizure by OSPCA.
have you shared these photos of him w/them, or would it backfire with accusations of trespassing? I wonder how that measures out when neighbour is a renter- can you get the LL to back you up so you're not in trouble when stepping on that rental property?"
These are the photos that are available from my own driveway. Anything else would be trespassing. He's just on that tipping point, ya know? Not starving. He gets "lots" of shitty hay.
BCS of about, what do you think?
3.5?
Maybe 3?
Lovely, how we can measure this stuff.
Not actionable.
Not illegal.
Still waiting on LL. As usual. She's probably paid her rent, and off we go again:(
Who knows? Not me.
LL isn't interested in animals, except from a farm insurance liability standpoint, which we have mentioned to him.
On a farm, AC is livestock, not a pet.
I found about 5 minutes of hoof sign, three days ago. Nothing since.
Okay, I need to
WOW.
Rolex 3Day is on TV, wow, Oliver Townend survived, wow, that vest saved his life.
wow.
That vest saved his life.
I wish they hadn't called it "a spectacular fall".
I hate when scary/life-threatening is all Ohhhh, SpectacularRRR.
It's a spectacle, all right.
Glad he's okay!
Oh, and that's because the garage door is wide open now, that I have a pretty clear view of Chief. Camera's quickness helps.
Forgot to say that.
I drive past him on the way in.
And on the way out.
Fun.
NoT.
