Dogs in the Country

The very best part of fall in Ontario. Trees proudly show off their Sunday best tartans. The colours change subtly, and make my eyes tear at their beauty. The first hard frost will strip them, the end looming closer daily. But in the meantime, I let my eyes fill up with the simple pleasures of colour.

Mom's calling! Flip says "What?", Blaze says, "Coming Mom!"

Mom says "Let's play frisbee!" Flip says, "What?" Blaze says, "Ready when you are, Mom!"

Deer antlers. Best. Chew Toy. Ever..

Dutiful Asian daughter is seeing the fall foliage for the first time. (Up in Amherst, MA) Didn't believe me that it would get COLD in October and VERY COLD in November. She went out and bought two coats from a thrift store. First pair of gloves too.

I'm FREEZING here by the way. Having a cold snap only in the high 60's about 10/15 degrees colder than normal

That's the only thing I've found hot flashes useful for.
Cold.

heck, it's 10-15 degrees colder here, too, kaede.
Low 40's in the am.. BRRRRR.
But when the old body temperature is set to 110, no worries:)
I think this winter is going to be colder.
Thanks for that nice surprise, kaede!
I was beginning to think I was invisible.
Still feel pretty see-through.

Great pictures GL!

The pups are just so pretty. I love their shiny black coats.

We haven't started our fall colors yet. Some leaves were starting to turn but that was because of the awful heat and dryness. After the monsoons of last week, leaves are back to green. In my area, the leaves don't usually start to change until late this month.

It feels so good to go out in the morning with a sweats on.

Kaede- love the stories of DD but aren't you in NC? Lovely change of foliage there, how did DD miss that?

I sure am in NC, but where I live we don't get much fall color. That's up in the mountains, about 5 hours away. 'Round here the leaves turn a little bit around mid November then fall off. Funny, I'm officially in the piedmont, but just barely. We are in hardiness zone 8
