Sigh. Gardening by eye. My favourite pastime. These beautiful plants are unfurling over a very few days this year, you can see them growing, if you're patient. Which I'm not, so snap away at them with my camera I do.
"I've been a miner for a heart of gold, and I'm getting old". Thanks, Neil Young. You've depressed me for as long as I can remember, and I love ya for it:)
Oh, this is funny. I was listening at work (during lunch minute) to a Neil Young classic from After the Gold Rush, you know the one "I was lying in a burned out basement, with the full-moon in my eyes.." THAT one, I'm singing away, Stinky on my lap, as I eat and read and generally multi-task. I hear the deeedle-doodle tunes of the ice cream truck, annoyingly loud over Neil, can't they turn those things down? Shouldn't they be selling this stuff to kids??
I keep hearing some faintly urgent radio noises and a woman's voice saying expectantly "Hello?" as if I have answered the phone, but not answered. Weird, I could NOT figure out where the dratted sound was coming from. At first I honestly thought it was coming from Stinks. Maybe he swallowed a radio? Checked my ancient phone, finally had to get up and go outside and look and listen. It was the freakin' ice-cream truck. That background to the deedle noise FORCED me out of my shop. Scary, huh? How innocuous, how clever. How controlling.
1984, man oh man. "Look at mother nature on the run, in the 1970's"..
Sorry. I love ol' Neil. A grand old Canadian.
To my faithful ferocious readers. All three of you, including my shorter older sister. BIG mistake, letting sisters read your blog. Huge.
SOS can cook, she has proven it. I better be good to her:)
To Mom, and her gold heart.

Honestly have never in my life seen a real ice cream truck, just the guys with the coolers on bikes. Guess I am truly a bumpkin!
Number 2 checking in. ;-) LOL
I kind of miss the ice cream trucks that used to come around our apartments in Scottsdale. Megan was little then and it was quite fun to run out out there and pick out a treat. My favorite is the orange sherbert push-ups. Megan always liked the rainbow freezes.
My radishes and sweetpeas are coming up. I planted sweet corn and some lettuces today. Hopefully tomorrow, I'll get the tomatoes, cucumbers and watermelons in.
We used to have an ice cream truck that cruised the 'hood, back when I was growing up.
Loved the bomb pops, push ups, and the screw balls. The screw ball was a cone shaped sherbet with a gumball in the bottom. Which was always hard as a rock by the time you got to it.
