He MUCH prefers his new house, I think! He is still kinda wide-eyed in the second picture, it's only the second day, and he can't quite believe his good fortune.
8/8/2011, Stanley is about nine, maybe, hyperthyroid, neutered, declawed, and a love noodle. He spends his days pressing his head against a couch, or kneading his claws, or sleeping, or trying to train dad to be a cat person. It isn't working. When Stanley leaps off dad's lap, he digs his hind claws into my dad's paper thin skin. I HAVE told dad to wear a lap pillow. YOU tell my dad to do ANYthing. It's tricky. He's even stubborner (sp) than me.

June 6, enjoying his new kitchen floor. |
6/6/2011He is playing hard to get with Dad. Dad will have to call him, if he wants him. I told Dad what to say. MY Dad, saying kittykittykitty. The world has truly changed, for the better! For Stanley:)

Sadly, he has continued to dig his hind claws into Dad, and since Dad can bruise just looking at a sharp edge, and is on alot of medications for his blood, the safest option is to re-home. He has also bitten dad, a love-bite which Dad cannot understand the signals for. It is dangerous for my Dad's health to keep Stanley.
Can anybody help?
I will be moving him to my new shop, but it has to be temporary. Landlords don't allow animals.

Here in central Massachusetts we see lots of horses in roadside paddocks/pastures.
Yesterday we saw a palamino mule! I've hardly ever seen a mule in real life, and never a palamino. it was heavily built like a draft horse(or maybe just shaggy) but only big-pony height. I was so busy looking at ears and tail I didn't notice much else.
Got home, looked it up, and learned that mule tails are hairy like horse tails but the hair is coarser than horsetail hairs, just like htis guy was.
and YAY for Stanley and your Dad!
Hiya LG! How cool is that! I've never seen a palomino mule! Mind you, I haven't seen too many mules in my life, period.
(My family doesn't count;)
I wonder if a palomino donkey is possible..
Just visited Stanley this morning, as dad's away on a golf trip. Sweetest cat ever!
Stanley looks identical to Charley Cat...the poor starving thing that jumped in my husband's car and insisted he was coming home with us.
Yea...no longer starving and he claimed the husband's shop as is domain.
Sooooo...I am not a fan of declawing, but could having his hind claws removed enable him to stay with your dad?
MH was not a cat fan either...he's actually allergic to them...but he's a total cat lover now. Amazing how the right one can totally change someone's opinion.
Hey GL ... good thing you took this guy in. Wish I had a solution for you. Since he's got that thyroid problem, barns are out ... I could try asking around but most people I know don't want more cats. Rehoming a senior, hyperthyroid cat is going to be tough ... :(
