Chariots and Armadillos

Easter Monday Day.

I did what any self-effacing practical white wasp christian-flavoured would do on Easter weekend. I watched "Ben Hur", for the chariot races. I gasped/shuddered again at how the director must have achieved those two chariots and their eight horses stopping so suddenly and catastrophically. It must have hurt a bit. The very biblical year of 1959 hadn't perfected the "don't kill the animals while filming" rule that came up as people started paying more attention. And I still think old Juda Ben took one heck of a public health chance, bringing sister and mom into the city. How was he to know they'd be miraculously cured? They were shedding bacilli all OveR the place. ew.

Couldn't ALL the lepers have been miraculously cured? Or maybe they were, that just wasn't covered in this Hollywood movie of completely accurate historical facts. Hey, since the lightning storm at work last Tuesday night, I'm doing whatever I can to be good. However, that did not prevent my doctor from sending me to a new place for tests!
I got to go and have a woman's exam!! Oh, joy! Best part about it, the reason I actually had to pick up the phone and make the darned appointment?
One of the Doctor's names was

Dr. Goldfinger. I KNOW!! Dr. G. was in Florida, which I was glad, because one shouldn't laugh during these exams, unless one is ReaLLy relaxed. Oh, sorry. I'll dial back to less disgusting.

Of course "Ten Commandments" was on  Easter Sunday, I watched the part where the Nile turns red, around there. Yul Brynner never did anything better than playing the Pharoah of Egypt... sigh. And Nefertiri's gold gowns, yowza!

I'm into antique movies, obviously. Like Liz Taylor passed away. Finally, the world can get back to being a little uglier. I read and listened as so many youngsters said "Huh? Who died?" Liz TAYLOR, you nutcases!
Watch some antiques for a change. "Giant" begats "Butterfield 8" and then somehow"Goldfinger" comes to mind;) Maybe because of Cleopatra. Could that woman wear an outfit!

In other boring news, Older shorter sister has finally proven to me that she can cook a turkey. Yes, I admit it, Oss. (aka mama2) The gravy just about exploded my aorta, and the nephew/Niece/Bf combo of potato whipping was a tremendous achievement. The chocolate cupcakes were enough to send my cholesterol into the atmosphere, so I took two aspirin at about 2am to cure the food-catatonia. Well, two cupcakes, two aspirin. Balances out, right? I thought so.
Armadillos.

Don't adjust your eyes, I did just type armadillos. Hey, they are as relevant to this as anything.

OH, congrats to Wills & Kate. I forgot to send a gift, but hey, Canada is spending on memorabilia!
To A MUCH happier future for them. We need a good fairy-tale, once in a while.
(adjusting frequency..)
