For IanMacd, JoanieMcD, and KayK, with love

To Joanie, Dad's long-time Partner, missed four years today, my dear brave, strong fierce Uncle Ian, and my Kay, sister's MIL, a dear friend to me as well, gone five years(?) now. Dad's the oldest fart now, and he doesn't like it one bit.

And to Murray Kaake, my husband's dear old friend, long-time animal transporter, 94 years young, an old-timer that knew my husband ever since he was a child. A nice old guy zooming around the four-corners of our little town on his moped, and chatting with anyone who'd say hello. People like that need remembered, too. His eyes would always light up when I'd bellow/explain who I was, and we'd chat about his old days, kind old soul he was. Just learned of his passing today, from last week's paper.

To February and then March.
To time passing right before my eyes.
To embracing that time for all it's worth.
And relishing every millimicrosecond.
Hopefully remembering more of it.

Sounds like a melancholy day ,remembering those lost to you.A very thoughtful rememberance that honours them . Spring is just around the next bend, isn't it?

It's so sad to lose the ones we love. I remember each and every one as a blessing in my life. That is one thing about growing old that sucks...outliving dear ones, human and animal alike.
I try not to get caught in the sadness, and remember the joyous times. My grampa actually attended his own wake! He knew he was dying, and threw a big party. He said he wanted the fine words and flowers while he could hear them...we were left with the boom of his laughter and his famous one liners, and the gift of being able to tell him how much we loved him.
What a beautiful ode you have written.
