Allways gets me down...
Here's a note to the marketing people of the world. I would LOVE a shampoo that says, right on the plastic, "removes dirt from hair". That's ALL I want in my first shampoo. I don't need a 'poo that will improve my social life. I have a helluva time finding the first "strip the tar off" shampoo. Hey, I work in the city. Herbal Essence UseD to make a good one. Changed the formula. sigh...

Why is this relevant? Oh, well, it isn't really. Just a thought I had. Oh, right, about dirt. Our weird, odd, strange aversion to dirt. Like everything else not clean in life, from ourselves, to our animals. We really do not know much about either, it seems.

It's always made me chuckle a bit. I knew a woman who very sadly passed from breast cancer. She loved animals, and had always had a cat. The cat didn't use a litter box, and went outside to do her business. Cool cat. Anyway, my old red dog loved this woman dearly, as I did. (Not the cat, but that's because the cat never liked ANYone, but this woman.)

I asked the woman if Red Dog could visit, later in her battle. She said she preferred that old Red Dog stayed away, as dogs were dirty. This woman was a bit of a "clean" type. She had white cloth furniture in her living room, which always terrified me. Anyway, it saddened me a bit that RedDog wouldn't be able to say goodbye. And brings me to my point.

There is such a thing as Too Clean. We are all imminently, ultimately bio-degradable, so I don't always understand the huge deal behind killing every microbe possible in your home, with chemicals I know aren't exactly eco-friendly. Like Febreze. I know youze guys LOVE it. It made my lungs burn, immediately. I'd rather have a bit of dirt. I feel healthier, knowing I can fight it. MySelf.
Hey, I am NOT against clean! Just...

Oh, this will cheer up the gray day. Here's an example of pre-clean, in my house. My camera always shows me stuff I haven't seen, the artful dog hair, and the aura of dust around the "white" background. Artistic, yes?

GL, funky stuff be happening to your blog. Did you write this post before the Patrick Swayze one? Because it's coming up underneath it.

Easy to solve, go to edit post, then to the bottom form more options, change the date and then re publish post. Easy breezy.

Oh, and second!

Yeah, we gotta clea our house a bit too. Been putting off the spring cleaning.

Nope, CNJ, this positioning was quite totally deliberate. I'm keeping the dirt swept under;)

just an after-thought post, really.

Inspired by my first usage of my wonder vacuum.
My GOD, that thing is awesome.
Dyson Animal.
WOWza.
and, CNJ, You missed the point! There is such a thing as toooo clean!!!!!!
and, as far as I know, spring isn't that close yet.
so, ignore that dirt. It's all around ya, anyway. Even after you clean.
Take a microbiology course, you'll see what I mean.

Ah-ha! I found the dirt post! I read this yesterday, was gonna come back and comment, but then I couldn't find it.
My life is in, surrounded by, and covered up in, dirt. Dirt, dirt, dirt. My house varies between - really horribly messy and slightly less horribly messy.
I've gone on "I WILL keep this house clean" binges but it turns me into such a bitch that I gave up. I'd rather be happy and dirty than bitchy and clean. I must say, myself, my husband and my kids are amazingly healthy and seem to have high immunities. So I subscribe to the "were making ourselves sick by being clean freaks" theory. If for no other reason than it makes me feel better.
Out to ride my horse now (who is also horribly dirty. White horse in winter mud of PacNW makes for a not-so-white horse!).

I too lost this post , oh well founfd it now . A little dirt won't hurt us .I tell you living with Winston I know about the artfully placed dog hair!Sweep vacum repaet . Ad to that the bale a day of hay I bring in either in my hair or my pockets ...
They are now recomending against antibacterial soaps for day to day use , as they are helpiung to perpetuate the "super bugs"

I didn't lose this post but I lost my mind. Oh well, everyone already knew that.

I think the same thing, too much emphasis on sterilizing everything. The problem with that is the human body loses its ability to fight infections if it doesn't have some amount of exposure.

I do like a tidy house, but I do not fret over things like horse, dog and cat hair, hay bits all over the place and a few paw prints here and there. "Ain't nothin but a thing."
